Color TV camera Tesla TKP-306

Year of manufacture: cca. 1979-1990
Manufacturer: Tesla Radiospoj
Description: The first Czechoslovak mass-produced color TV camera. It uses three vacuum tubes (Plumbicons) to scan the image, the rest of the electronics uses semiconductors. The lens and tripod were made in Western Europe. The camera needed a rack full of electronics to operate. The camera does not provide a complete TV signal on its output, only the raw signals from the image tubes, which are then processed in the rack. The camera is connected to the rack with a very thick cable, which was so heavy that it required a dedicated worker to move it. These cameras were used in the Czech TV until 1996.
