Manufacturer: Sony Corp., Japan, 80. léta
Description:

This video recorder is a successor of the Quadruplex machine, which used a two-inch magnetic tape. This machine uses one-inch tape, a so-called "System C". The European one-inch machine, placed behind your back, is a "System B". The System B records one image field per six revolutions of the video head drum, while the System C records the field in one revolution. Thanks to this, the System C can be much more easily adapted for various video tricks, such as a pause or fast or slow motion. Compared to the Quadruplex system, also the image quality was slightly better and, most important, the whole machine was much smaller and less complicated and could be also made as a portable device. The tape speed was 23,98 cm/s. The System C machines were very reliable and they are still used in the Czech TV to play archive materials.
