Hearing aids |
|
Year of manufacture: | 1950s - 1960s |
Description: |
A hearing aid contains a microphone, an amplifier and an earphone. The first types used subminiature vacuum tubes, the batteries were placed in a separate box and connected with a cable. When the first transistors were developed, they happened to be very suitable for these devices - the high noise and bad frequency response of the first types was not a problem in a hearing aid, as opposed to a radio, but the energy and space saving was immense. |
