Description:

In 1970, the operation of the Second Channel of the Czechoslovak Television was launched. It was broadcast in a new UHF or ultra-high-frequency band, 471 to 855 MHz. Older TV receivers were not equipped with a tuner for this band, so it was possible to buy a converter that would transfer the signal from the UHF band to one of the channels of the VHF band (49 to 233 MHz) that could be tuned on the older TV sets.
